From a leisurely family walk suitable for everyone, to hikes for those that are good with heights, you will find the one that is best for you, and our team are on hand to advise you. You can scale the heights to admire the scenery or descend into the Gorges via steep narrow paths. The proposed hikes take between one and three hours according to the level.
The Sentier du Blanc Martel : a must-see hike in the Verdon
Hikers come from far and wide to “do the Blanc Martel”. This 15km trail starts at Chalet de la Maline and goes all the way to Point Sublime. Although it is not very difficult, it is not recommended for young children and is best-suited to experienced walkers. You can’t just make it up as you go along, you need to be quite prepared. Once you have started, it is difficult to turn back. The most challenging section is the Imbert stairs, all 275 of them. The view is breathtaking but watch out for vertigo! Allow for approximately 6 hours walking time.
Imbut Trail
If there is one hike that is not to be missed in the Verdon, it is the Imbut Trail! This trail is about 7 km long and starts near the Auberge des Cavaliers, where you can park your car. It will take you between 4 and 6 hours of hiking depending on your speed. The trail takes you to Imbut and the beautiful pebble beach. Here, calm reigns supreme, and you can enjoy a quiet picnic, well deserved after this beautiful hike. The route is quite varied: shady passages under the trees, which you will appreciate in the summer sun, and steeper and rocky passages, but you will always enjoy breathtaking landscapes from the cliffs and the turquoise water of the river. Here, the atmosphere is quite different from that of the Lake of Sainte-Croix, the river is tumultuous, so you have to be careful.
If you prefer shorter walks, the Lézard Trail (about 2 hours’ walk) and the Pêcheur Trail (about 2h30) are very pleasant trails where you can discover the magnificent nature of the Verdon, including its plant and animal life.
